There are a few possible reasons why your Samsung gas range will not light. We have listed each one below and how to fix them.

1. The Igniter

A faulty igniter is the most common reason why your gas oven light. Follow these steps to replace the igniter in your Samsung gas oven…

Step 1: Unplug your oven from the outlet or switch the circuit breaker off.

Step 2: Open the oven door and take out the racks.

Step 3: Pull out the bottom drawer of the oven.

Step 4: Set the drawer aside.

Step 5: Look underneath the oven, you will see a white wire plug. This is connected to the igniter. Disconnect the wire plug.

Step 6: Look inside the oven on the bottom floor, there are two Philips head screws which hold it in place. Take out the two screws and lift the bottom panel.

Step 7: Set the bottom panel aside.

Step 8: Next, take out the screws which secure the silver heat shield.

Step 9: Lift the heat shield out of the oven.

Step 10: The igniter is on the left side of the burner tube. Take out the two screws which secure the igniter.

Step 11: Remove the igniter and get a new one.

Step 12: Position the igniter on the tube and secure it using the screws.

Step 13: Pass the igniter wire through the hole in the oven to the bottom.

Step 14: Reconnect the wire plug to the igniter underneath the oven.

Step 15: Reposition the heat shield and return the screws which hold it in place.

Step 16: Return the bottom panel and secure it with the screws.

Step 17: Return the racks to the oven.

Step 18: Close the door of the oven and switch the circuit breaker back.

2. The Control Board

If the control board in your oven is faulty, it won’t send voltage to the igniter to light. So, if you have replaced the igniter and your Samsung gas range will not light still, follow these steps to replace the control board…

Step 1: Switch off your oven’s circuit breaker.

Step 2: Pull the oven away from the wall.

Step 3: Go to the back of the oven and take out the screws which secure the metal brackets under the upper panel.

Step 4: Remove the metal brackets.

Step 5: Take out the screws which secure the upper back panel using a Philips head screwdriver.

Step 6: Set the panel aside.

Step 7: Disconnect the ribbon cable from the control board.

Step 8: Also disconnect the other wire connectors on the control board.

Step 9: Take out the screws which secure the control board and plastic plate to the oven.

Step 10: Remove the control board assembly.

Step 11: Take out the screws which secure the control board to the plastic plate.

Step 12: Get a replacement control board.

Step 13: Position the control board on the plastic plate and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 14: Take the control board and metal plate back to the control panel assembly.

Step 15: Screw the control board back into place.

Step 16: Reconnect all the wire plugs to the control board.

Step 17: Reconnect the ribbon cable as well.

Step 18: Reposition the upper back panel of the oven and hold it in place with the screws.

Step 19: Return the metal brackets and the screws which hold them in place.

Step 20: Push the oven back to the wall.

Step 21: Switch on your oven’s circuit breaker.

Samsung Gas Stove Will Not Light — How To Fix

If your Samsung gas stove will not light, follow these steps to fix it…

Step 1: Turn off your oven’s circuit breaker.

Step 2: Remove the stove grates.

Step 3: Lift off the burner assembly and set it aside.

Step 4: Take out the nut which secures the stove igniter.

Step 5: Carefully pull out the igniter and clean it with a wire brush.

Step 6: Also clean the base as well.

Step 7: Push the igniter back in and return the nut which secures it.

Step 8: Return the burner assembly.

If this doesn’t fix the problem, the spark module will need to be replaced. Follow these steps to replace the spark module of your Samsung oven…

Step 1: Leave the oven’s circuit breaker off.

Step 2: Pull the oven away from the wall.

Step 3: Take out the screws which secure the metal brackets under the upper back panel of the oven. There will be one bracket on the right and another one on the left.

Step 4: Remove the brackets and take out the screws which hold the upper back panel in place.

Step 5: On the right side of the oven, you will see the spark module. Disconnect the wires from the spark module and make sure to note where each one goes.

Step 6: Take out the screws which secure the spark module.

Step 7: Remove the spark module and get a new one.

Step 8: Position the new spark module on the oven and hold it in place using the screws.

Step 9: Reconnect the wires to the spark module.

Step 10: Reposition the back panel of the oven and secure it using the screws.

Step 11: Return the metal brackets under the panel and the screws which secure them.

Step 12: Push the oven back to the wall and switch on the circuit breaker.

Why Doesn’t My Samsung Oven Light Work?

1. The Light Bulb

This is the most likely reason why your Samsung oven light bulb won’t work. Below are the steps you need to follow in order to replace the light bulb in a Samsung oven…

Step 1: First, unplug the oven or switch off the circuit breaker.

Step 2: Open the oven door and remove the racks inside.

Step 3: The light bulb is on the back wall of the oven. First, remove the cover by turning it counterclockwise.

Step 4: Set the cover aside.

Step 5: Also remove the light bulb by turning it counterclockwise.

Step 6: Get a new light bulb.

Step 7: Screw the new light bulb into the socket.

Step 8: Return the light bulb cover.

Step 9: Slide the racks back into the oven.

Step 10: Close the oven door.

Step 11: Plug the oven back in or switch the circuit breaker back on.

2. The Light Socket

If the light in your Samsung oven still doesn’t work, the socket may be faulty. Below are the steps you need to follow to replace the light socket in your Samsung oven…

Step 1: Pull out the oven from the cabinet.

Step 2: Disconnect the oven’s power cord from the outlet or switch off the circuit breaker.

Step 3: Open the oven door.

Step 4: Remove the racks inside.

Step 5: On the back wall of the oven, you will see the light bulb screwed into the socket. Unscrew the light bulb cover first by turning it counterclockwise.

Step 6: Unscrew the light bulb as well.

Step 7: Go to the back of the oven and remove the Philips head screws which hold the lower back panel in place.

Step 8: Hold the bottom of the panel and lift it up. The edges of the panel are sharp so be careful.

Step 9: Set the panel aside.

Step 10: Disconnect the two wires from the light socket.

Step 11: Using a multimeter, test the socket for continuity. If there is continuity, you don’t need to replace the socket. If there is no continuity, the socket is faulty and will need to be replaced.

Step 12: Go back to the oven interior and push back on the metal tabs which secure the light socket using a flat head screwdriver.

Step 13: Remove the light socket and get a new one.

Step 14: Push the new light socket into place.

Step 15: Screw the light bulb back in and return the cover.

Step 16: Go to the back of the oven and reconnect the wires to the socket.

Step 17: Reposition the back panel of the oven and secure it with the screws.

Step 18: Return the racks to the oven.

Step 19: Close the oven door.

Step 20: Plug the oven’s power cord back into the outlet and push it back to the wall.

3. The Door Switch

A faulty door switch is another possible reason why your Samsung oven light won’t turn on. Follow these steps to test and replace the door switch in a Samsung oven.

Step 1: Switch off the oven’s circuit breaker and pull it away from the cabinet.

Step 2: Using a Philips head screwdriver, take out the screws which secure the oven’s lower rear panel.

Step 3: Remove the panel and set it aside.

Step 4: On the upper right of the oven, you will see the door switch on the door lock assembly. Disconnect the wire harness from the door switch.

Step 5: Take out the two Philips head screws which secure the door switch to the lock assembly.

Step 6: Using a multimeter, test the switch for continuity. If there is no continuity, the door switch should be replaced.

Step 7: Get a new door switch and position it on the lock assembly.

Step 8: Hold the door switch in place using the two screws.

Step 9: Reconnect the wire harness to the door switch.

Step 10: Reposition the lower rear panel and secure it using the screws.

Step 11: Push the oven back to the cabinet.

Step 12: Switch the oven’s circuit breaker back on.

4. The Control Board
