You are probably here because your Samsung microwave’s display panel is showing “filter.” Well, in this article, we are going to talk about Samsung microwave filter issues and how to fix them.
Why Does Samsung Microwave Say Filter
Well, the filter message is showing on your microwave’s screen because the filter either needs to be cleaned or changed. If you own a Samsung over-the-range microwave and you have left the charcoal filter more than the recommended time, it’s time to change it. But if you haven’t cleaned your grease filter before, this is the time to do so. To clean your Samsung microwave filter, follow these steps…
Step 1: Remove the grease filters by pulling the iron tab on each one. The filter is located under the microwave.
Step 2: Place the filters in a bowl of hot water with some soap.
Step 3: Let them soak for a while. After a while, go back and wash the filters with a soft sponge till all the grease is gone.
Step 4: Rinse them in some clean cool water and leave to dry on a towel.
Step 5: Once they are dry, return them.
If the filter message is still showing on the display, hold down the “0” button to clear it.
To replace a charcoal filter, do the following…
Step 1: Turn the microwave off and unplug.
Step 2: Open the microwave and take out the screws on the top of the vent. Your microwave may have two or three depending on its model.
Step 3: Remove the vent.
Step 4: The charcoal filter will be inside. Take it out and replace it with a new one.
Step 5: Put the vent back and screw it into place.
Step 6: Plug the microwave back and turn it on.
Step 7: Hold down the “0” button to clear the filter message.
