If your Electrolux oven is locked, it may be because you mistakenly activated the control lock feature. Below are the steps you need to follow in order to replace the latch motor of your Electrolux oven…

Step 1: To avoid the risk of electrocution, unplug the oven’s power cord from the outlet and switch off the circuit breaker.

Step 2: Pull the oven away from the wall to access the rear.

Step 3: If your oven uses gas, shut off the gas supply as well.

Step 4: Get a quarter inch nut driver.

Step 5: Using the quarter inch nut driver, take out the screws which hold the oven’s lower rear panel in place.

Step 6: Lift the rear panel off and set it aside.

Step 7: Note where each wire goes on the latch motor. If it’s too difficult to remember, simply take a picture.

Step 8: Take out the two quarter inch screws which hold the door latch motor in place.

Step 9: Remove the door latch motor from the rod.

Step 10: Push the rod forward to unlock the door.

Step 11: Get a new Electrolux oven lock motor.

Step 12: Insert the rod into the hole in the new door latch motor.

Step 13: Hold the door latch motor in place with the two quarter inch screws.

Step 14: Reconnect the wires to the door latch motor making sure that each one goes to the right place.

Step 15: Reposition the oven’s upper back panel and hold it in place with the quarter inch screws.

Step 16: Reconnect the power to the oven by switching the circuit breaker on or plugging the oven’s power cord back in.

Step 17: If you shut off the gas supply, turn it back on.

Step 18: Return the oven to its usual position.
