Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.

Step 4: Get a flat blade screwdriver and use it to flip the locks on the door hinges forward.

Step 8: Lift the oven’s bottom panel and set it aside.
Step 9: Take out the screws on the oven’s lower back wall which hold the bake element and bracket in place.
Step 10: Set the bracket aside and pull your Kenmore oven element forward.
Step 11: Disconnect the wires from the terminals of the element. You can do this using a pair of needle nose pliers. Make sure the wires don’t fall through the oven’s back wall once you disconnect them.
Step 12: Test the bake element using a multimeter. If there is no continuity, the bake element is faulty and should be replaced.
Step 13: Get a new Kenmore oven element and take it to the oven.
Step 14: Connect the wires to the terminals of the element.
Step 15: Push the element in and reposition the bracket.
Step 16: Secure the bracket and element to the oven using the two screws.

2. Damaged Wires

Step 8: Reposition the oven’s back panel and hold it in place with the screws.

Kenmore Oven Broil Element Not Working — How To Fix
If your Kenmore oven broil element is not working, it should be replaced. To replace your broil Kenmore oven element, follow the steps listed below…
Step 1: Unplug the oven’s power cord for safety.
Step 2: Open the door of the oven.
Step 3: Slide out the racks and set them aside.
Step 4: Take out the two screws on the oven upper back wall which hold the broil element in place. You can do this with a Philips head screwdriver.
Step 5: Unhook the broil element from the top of the oven interior.
Step 6: Pull the element forward and disconnect the wires from the terminals. Make sure the wires don’t fall through the oven’s back wall.
Step 7: Get a new broil element
Step 8: Connect the wires to the broil element and hook it back to the top of the oven.
Step 9: Return the screws on the oven’s back wall which hold the broil element in place.
Step 10: Return the racks to the oven.
Step 11: Shut the door.

How To Test Kenmore Oven Element
To test your Kenmore oven element, simply follow the steps listed below…
Step 1: Take the element out of the oven.
Step 2: Get a multimeter.
Step 3: Turn the multimeter dial to the lowest setting for ohms. If you are using an analog multimeter, touch the two probes together while adjusting the needle on the display to 0 after setting it to ohms.
Step 4: Touch each multimeter probe to each terminal of the element.
Step 5: Look at the reading on the multimeter’s display. You should see a reading anywhere from 30 to 100 ohms if the element is good. If the display of the multimeter doesn’t change much or at all, the element is faulty and should be replaced.

1. Radiant Element
If your Kenmore stove top element won’t work, it’s probably faulty. Below, we have listed the steps you need to follow in order to replace the element of your Kenmore stove top…
Step 1: Pull the stove away from the wall.
Step 2: Disconnect the power cord or switch the breaker off to avoid the risk of electrocution.
Step 3: Pull off the stove’s control knobs. Make sure to note where each one goes before pulling them off.
Step 4: Remove the control panel retainers using a flat head screwdriver. The retainers are on the control knob stems.
Step 5: Lift the control panel.
Step 6: Disconnect the wires from the control panel assembly and set it aside.
Step 7: Take out the screws which hold the metal bracket of the control panel assembly.
Step 8: Disconnect the two wire plugs from the metal bracket and set aside.
Step 9: Open the door of the oven.
Step 10: Using a Philips head screwdriver, take out the screws which hold the control panel’s plastic cover in place. There are screws at the top and bottom of the plastic cover.
Step 11: Set the cover aside.
Step 12: Pull off the glass stove top’s front gasket.
Step 13: Take out the screws which hold the stove top assembly in place.
Step 14: Note where each wire harness goes, then lift the stove top assembly off.
Step 15: Set the stove top face down on a sturdy surface lined with a cloth.
Step 16: Remove the bracket securing the element you want to replace.
Step 17: Note how the element is position on the stove top then lift it off.
Step 18: Get a new element.
Step 19: Place the element on the stove top making sure that it’s properly positioned.
Step 20: Transfer the wires from the old element to the new one.
Step 21: Return the retaining bracket to the stove top element.
Step 22: Lift the stove top and reposition it on the oven.
Step 23: Return all the screws which hold the stove top in place.
Step 24: Return the gasket to the front of the glass stove top.
Step 25: Reposition the plastic cover of the control panel.
Step 26: Hold the cover in place at the top and bottom with the screws.
Step 27: Shut the oven door.
Step 28: Take the control panel metal plate to the the oven.
Step 29: Reconnect the elements’ wire plugs back to the plate and secure it with the screws.
Step 30: Take the control panel assembly back to the oven and connect the wires to it.
Step 31: Screw the retainers back over the control knob stems to hold the control panel in place.
Step 32: Push the control knobs back into place.
Step 33: Plug the oven’s power cord back into the outlet.
Step 34: Push the oven back to the wall.

2. Loose Or Damaged Wires
If replacing the stove top element doesn’t fix the problem, you should inspect the wires connected to it. Make sure each wire is properly connected to the element. Inspect the wires for burns. If the wires appear burnt or damaged in any way, contact a technician to fix them.
3. Element Switch
This is the final possible reason why your Kenmore stove top element won’t work. If the element switch fails, it won’t send voltage to the element to work. Below, we have listed the steps you need to follow in order to replace your Kenmore stove top element switch…
Step 1: Pull the oven away from the wall.
Step 2: Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
Step 3: Pull off all the stove control knobs. Make sure to note where each one goes before doing this.
Step 4: Remove the control panel retainers using a flat head screwdriver. The retainers are over the control knob stems.
Step 5: Lift the panel.
Step 6: Take out the screws which hold the metal plate of the control panel using a Philips head screwdriver.
Step 7: Lift the metal plate.
Step 8: Take out the screws which hold the element switch of the faulty burner.
Step 9: Get a new element switch.
Step 10: Disconnect the wires from the old switch and connect them to the new one. Make sure each wire goes to the right place.
Step 11: Position the element switch on the metal plate and hold it in place with the two Philips head screws.
Step 12: Reposition the metal plate on the stove and hold it in place with the screws.
Step 13: Also reposition the control panel assembly.
Step 14: Return the retainers which hold the control panel in place.
Step 15: Push the control knobs back in.
Step 16: Plug the oven’s power cord back in and return the oven to its usual position.
