LG Microwave Light [Issues & Solutions]

Even though an LG microwave can still work perfectly fine without the light, it is still very convenient to have it. Let’s assume that you placed some food in the microwave and it’s about to bubble over.

With the LG microwave light bulb, you would know and act quickly. But without the light you wouldn’t know till it’s too late. So in this article, we are going to talk about LG microwave light problems and how to fix them.

LG Microwave Light Bulb Not Working

To replace your LG microwave light bulb, simply follow these steps…

Step 1: Turn off and unplug your microwave to avoid the risk of electrocution.

Step 2: Take out the four screws at the top front of the microwave.

Step 3: Tilt the front grille then take it out.

Step 4: If you look inside the opening, you will see a metal cover, push the tab forward then take out the cover.

Step 5: Unscrew the bulb and screw a new one into place.

Step 6: Return the light bulb cover.

Step 7: Put the front grille back and hold it in place with the four screws.

LG Microwave Light Won’t Turn Off

If your LG microwave light won’t turn off, the most likely reason for this is a faulty door switch. To test and replace the door switch in an LG microwave, do the following…

Step 1: First, make sure that the microwave is turned off then unplug it from the outlet.

Step 2: Take out the screw on the left side of the microwave and the three screws on the right side.

Step 3: Also take out the six screws behind the microwave.

Step 4: Lift the microwave cover up then take it out.

Step 5: Behind the control panel there will be three door switches in the holder, take the first one out.

Step 6: To know whether the door switch is faulty or not, simply press the small button on it. If there is a strong click, the door switch still works perfectly well so place it back in the holder.

Step 7: Take out the other two door switches and do this same test, if the button feels loose when you press it, you will need to replace it.

Step 8: Disconnect the wires from the faulty switch and get a new one.

Step 9: Connect the wires to the right places on the new door switch.

Step 10: Place the new door switch in the holder.

Step 11: Return the microwave cover and hold it in place with the screw on the left and three screws on the right.

Step 12: Also return the 6 screws at the back of the microwave.

Step 13: Plug the microwave back in.
